Jehan is an Egyptian-American TV journalist and filmmaker. Her media work, including TV network news production, multimedia producing, university teaching, broadcasting, freelance writing, and filmmaking, spans America, Europe and the Middle East. She covers underrepresented stories on women and minorities, as well as immigration, the environment, religion, and war aftermath.
She’s a fellow at the 2010 BAVC’s internationally recognized New Media Technologies lab in San Francisco, and the 2009 CPB/PBS Producers Academy at WGBH in Boston. Jehan won national awards, including Link TV/One Nation Many Voices award for best documentary on American-Muslim women, the prestigious Writers Guild of America-East’s John Marriman Award in New York, as well as the Christopher’s Making a Difference Award. Most recently, the Women’s Media Center in NYC selected Jehan as a fellow in its Progressive Women’s Voices Program.
Jehan earned her M.A. in International Broadcast Journalism & Public Affairs from American University in Washington, DC. She is a graduate of the American University in Cairo, Egypt, where she was a journalist and radio broadcaster. Jehan was born in Kuwait.
